Pikes Peak Heritage Center at Cripple Creek More than a century ago, the southwestern slope of Pikes Peak was crowded with hopeful miners, searching for their fortunes in gold and a better way of life. Today, visitors to the region can learn about the struggles and triumphs of those early residents at the Pikes Peak Heritage Center. This new, educational center offers an interactive learning experience focusing on the region's gold mining history and current mining activity. Visitors of all ages will also learn about dinosaurs that once roamed this region, geologic history, flora and fauna, and area activities, through exhibits and theater presentations.

The Pikes Peak Heritage Center is located on Highway 67, at the northern edge of the town of Cripple Creek. Admission is free, and the center is open seven days a week for individuals, families and tour groups. For more information, call 877-858-4653 or visit www.pikes-peak.com/Attraction/81.aspx

Hi Everyone,

We will be hosting the inaugural State Games of the West airgun events at the U.S. Olympic Training Center on Sunday July 27, 2008.

Anyone (youth or adult) that participates in any sport in your local State Games, and all Colorado residents, are eligible to compete in the shooting events here at the OTC. The program will include all 4 Olympic airgun events and 3PAR and PPP. Please help us spread the word as widely as possible. Please spread the word that US style Trap and Skeet are also available.

FYI, State Games of America will also be here in 2009. I believe that will be open to medalists in your own State Games.

Any Colorado resident or student enrolled in a Colorado University/College or US military personnel or family member stationed in Colorado is eligible to compete.

I am also looking for volunteers for that day, particularly ROs and Scorers.

Visit http://www.stategamesofthewest.org/ or call the Colorado Springs Sports Corporation at (719) 634-7333 for more inforamtion.
