Breeding Beef Unit 1 (8-10) Juniors Project

This project is for member’s ages 8-10 years old. This project is designed for those members who want to learn more about the beef industry by starting his/her own herd. Members will accomplish the following learning experiences:

  • Learn about beef cattle
  • How to identify the parts of a calf
  • Identify breeds of cattle
  • Different types of feeds
  • Evaluating different beef animals
  • Exhibit animal on tour, achievement day or at a fair
  • Purchase, feed, and care for animals
  • Evaluate project with leader
